Programme Terms
Last updated: 30 June 2026
These Programme Terms explain how Second Nature by Terevia works for participating businesses and nature partners. They sit alongside, and don't replace, any individual agreement you sign with Terevia Group Ltd.
What Second Nature by Terevia is
Second Nature by Terevia is a structured monthly participation service. Participating businesses pay a fixed monthly participation fee at a chosen participation level. Terevia Group Ltd uses part of its own revenue to support approved UK conservation organisations, including approved UK conservation organisations.
What it is not
- Participation is not accreditation.
- Participation is not certification.
- Participation does not guarantee any specific environmental outcome. Contributions support the ongoing work of nature delivery organisations, but no individual business's contribution is presented as having caused a particular environmental result.
- Second Nature by Terevia is not carbon offsetting, and contributions are never described as offsetting emissions, achieving carbon neutrality, or any equivalent claim.
- Participation does not guarantee any procurement or commercial outcome. Documentation and materials may support a business's own communications, but nothing here is a promise about how a tender, questionnaire, or customer will respond.
Participation principles
- Participation and attributed contributions are recorded at business level only, never per transaction, per customer, per table, or per action.
- Claims made about participation are limited to what is documented and true at the time they're made.
- A business's participation level reflects the size of its fixed monthly participation fee, not the strength of any environmental claim.
Participation materials
Materials such as window decals, QR codes, a Contribution Dashboard, or wording for email signatures and social channels may vary depending on how a business participates, and are provided where relevant rather than automatically. Programme features, materials and resources may evolve as the programme develops.
Founding 50
The first 50 participating businesses, by order of joining, are recognised as Founding 50 within their own participation record. This recognition is permanent and does not depend on continued participation, participation level, or size.
Founding 50 recognition is not accreditation, not certification, and not evidence of environmental performance. It does not provide, imply, or guarantee any commercial advantage. It is simply a factual record of when a business joined, and that it was among the first 50 to do so.
Contributions
Participation fees are fixed and monthly, set by the participation level a business chooses. There's no long-term contract unless one has been specifically agreed, and a business may stop participating at any time; we'll record the point of any gap honestly rather than implying continuous participation that didn't happen.
Reporting
Participating businesses receive a documented, ongoing participation record, which updates as genuine participation data becomes available. Contributions may be attributed to a participating business for transparency, but funds are not held, assigned, ringfenced, or donated on that business’s behalf. Reporting reflects what has actually occurred: nothing is shown as complete, active, or current before it genuinely is. Participant records reflect the information available at the relevant reporting period, are factual records only, and should not be interpreted as statements of environmental performance. Public participant pages are published only where applicable.
Partner naming
Nature partners are named publicly only once they have agreed to be supported by Terevia and have separately and explicitly agreed to be named. An organisation may be supported by Terevia while choosing not to be named. That is their decision, and it does not affect whether they may be supported by Terevia. Organisations supported through the programme are published only where appropriate and where these publication conditions have been met.
Participant responsibilities
Participating businesses agree to describe their participation accurately, in line with these terms and with the factual, contribution-based language Second Nature by Terevia uses throughout, and not to present participation as an environmental certification, an offset, or a guaranteed outcome.
Changes
We may update these Programme Terms from time to time as the programme develops. The date at the top shows when they were last revised.
