Second Nature by Terevia
Why we built this

Built around how businesses actually operate

Terevia Group Ltd is the company behind Second Nature by Terevia, a monthly participation service for UK businesses. Terevia uses part of its own revenue to support approved UK conservation organisations.

Participation works best when it is practical, straightforward, and built to fit alongside the work businesses already do.

The operating reality

Built for practical participation

After two decades working inside hazardous waste management, environmental compliance, and commercial operations, the pattern was consistent: businesses wanted to do the right thing, but most available models didn't fit how they actually operated.

Too complicated. Too expensive. Too dependent on resources most businesses don't have. Too reliant on claims that couldn't survive scrutiny.

The businesses that want to contribute to UK nature aren't always the ones with dedicated internal teams and large discretionary budgets. They're often the ones with one person running everything, a supplier to call, an invoice to pay, and fifteen minutes at the end of the day.

That background also shaped a practical detail many programmes overlook: when a tender, supplier questionnaire, or framework renewal lands, the documentation needs to already exist, not be assembled under deadline pressure. So participation in Second Nature by Terevia is recorded and organised continuously, not produced retroactively when someone asks for it.

Second Nature by Terevia was built around a different principle. Consistent, documented participation, at a fixed monthly cost, with zero ongoing administration, creates more genuine long-term value than a complex promise most businesses can't realistically sustain.

Our philosophy

Not a campaign.

Not a certification.

A structure.

Businesses shouldn't need an environmental department to support UK nature. Participation should be simple enough to keep doing.

Paul Moulton

Founder & Director, Terevia Group Ltd

Paul founded Terevia Group Ltd after more than two decades working in hazardous waste management, environmental compliance, and commercial operations. His experience shaped the belief that businesses are far more likely to participate when doing the right thing is straightforward, practical, and easy to maintain.

That thinking became part of how Second Nature by Terevia is built: participation should fit naturally into everyday business operations, not create additional administration.

Colin Smerdon

Co-founder, Terevia Group Ltd

Colin has more than twenty years of experience delivering major UK and European infrastructure, commercial, and energy projects.

At Terevia Group Ltd, he provides the commercial and strategic architecture that allows the model to scale while remaining simple for participating businesses.

The model

Simple by design

The model is intentionally simple. Businesses pay a fixed monthly fee to take part in Second Nature by Terevia. Terevia uses part of its own revenue to support approved UK conservation organisations through a structure designed to fit alongside the work businesses already do.

Terevia Group Ltd manages the administration, reporting, and partner relationships, while participating businesses receive a Contribution Dashboard, Documentation Pack, Visibility Kit and Programme Updates.

Support for UK nature grows when doing the right thing becomes simple enough to keep doing.
